Stephen is regularly consulted by various companies and stakeholders in relation to their financial exposures and managerial issues in Australia and overseas on a confidential basis.

During his career, Stephen has acquired particular expertise in and has established a reputation as a business adviser to companies in various industries. He uses his extensive experience in conducting complex assignments.

Stephen continues to conduct numerous assignments in the Northern Territory, has an excellent understanding of NT business and maintains an established network of contacts and advisers throughout the NT.

Chris has over 30 years’ experience in all facets of Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround Management throughout Australia and predominately in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Chris enjoys the challenges of the profession, whether it be managing the trading, reconstruction and/or divestment of financially constrained or underperforming business units, through to undertaking complex investigations and litigation as a result of a company collapse. He strives to achieve the best possible stakeholder outcome.

Chris established DuncanPowell, a specialised insolvency and consulting practice in 1997 with business partner Stephen Duncan. During his career, Chris has performed engagements in most industry sectors for major trading banks, large corporations, SME’s and individuals.

Peter has over 30 years of accounting experience, four of which were in commerce with a major Australian firm. Since 1987 he has specialised in corporate insolvency with several established firms.

Peter thrives on the challenges his profession provides and has developed wide ranging industry knowledge including specialty areas such as education and indigenous affairs.

He has proven skills in both formal and informal insolvency appointments and has conducted reviews for major Australian banks and financiers as well as providing consulting services to a number of government departments and major corporate entities. He has extensive experience in investigating and analysing the affairs of both solvent and insolvent companies, the quantification of losses or damages for legal claims and acting as an expert in litigation matters.

Nick has been practising in the area of Corporate Advisory, Turnaround Management and Financial Consulting Services since 1985. He specialises in all forms of personal and corporate financial reconstructions. Nick’s expertise is in effecting constructive approaches aimed at overcoming an organisation’s financial, liquidity or management crisis through appropriate restructuring and re-organisation.

Advice is provided to financiers in circumstances where the future viability of a business is in jeopardy, or as a last resort, to act in a formal capacity.

During his career, Nick has acquired particular expertise in and has established a reputation as a business adviser to companies involved in Tourism & Hospitality, Agricultural & Rural, Motor Vehicle, Financial Institutions, Manufacturing and Transport.

Nick continues to conduct numerous assignments in the Northern Territory. He has extensive experience in this region.

Andrew commenced his career working alongside Stephen Duncan and Chris Powell in 1998 and has extensive experience in dealing with, and analysing, the affairs of companies of all sizes. After spending the previous 6 years working in the corporate recovery field in London where he gained exposure to the insolvency regimes of the United Kingdom, British Virgin Islands, Guernsey and the USA, he returned to Australia in September 2012.

During his career, Andrew has developed a comprehensive set of corporate recovery and financial analysis skills which he applies in a range of contexts, whether it be advising Directors and other key stakeholders, managing a trading situation, undertaking an independent business review or performing complex investigations in support of litigation. Andrew’s approach to assignments is always focused on the objective of delivering commercial solutions to difficult situations.

Briston is responsible for the management and delivery of Forensic Technology services, including computer forensics and e-discovery and has over nine years’ experience in accounting and restructuring matters and five years’ experience in providing Forensic Technology and investigative services.

Briston’s restructuring experience includes the review, investigation and restructure of organisations from small business owners to publicly listed organisations on behalf of secured lenders, creditors and stakeholders. He strives to work with stakeholders and organisations to achieve the best possible outcome for all.

During his career, Briston has also been responsible for the investigation of computer based information which includes the forensic investigation of corporate fraud, financial crime and intellectual property (IP) theft. This has included supporting investigations of regulatory bodies and the DuncanPowell restructuring team through the acquisition and analysis of forensic images.

• Forensic Services - Digital Evidence Management

With an established digital forensics career in law enforcement, challenges are what Mar has seen and worked through. From the retrospectively simple matters encountered as a junior to the more complex, such as leading a jury of non-technical peers through the intricate mosaic of digital forensic analysis.  

In her career, Mar progressed from junior analyst, to running the digital forensics IT infrastructure, to a specialist role where she held the most senior digital forensics position in a state law enforcement agency. There she achieved many notable outcomes spanning operational matters, criminal proceedings, IT infrastructure management, specialist team development and strategic influence.

Callum commenced working for DuncanPowell in 2008 and has managed numerous corporate restructuring and insolvency matters for a range of small, medium and large entities both in South Australia and interstate. 

During his time at DuncanPowell, he has been involved in trade-on appointments, Deeds of Company Arrangements, business restructures, various sale of business processes and undertaken complex investigations in liquidations.  

Callum is a member of the ARITA SA/NT Young Professionals Committee, and assists with organising educational and networking events.

Nadine joined DuncanPowell in 2011 and prior to that she was with another major restructuring and insolvency firm.  

Nadine has extensive experience in managing all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency engagements. Her experience includes personal insolvency agreements, bankruptcy, deceased estates, liquidations, voluntary administration, deed of company arrangements, receiverships and agent for mortgagees appointments. 

Nadine has dealt with numerous complex distressed situations in a diverse range of industries including education, retail, hospitality, mining, construction, insurance, and manufacturing.
